The city of Creve Coeur, population approximately 17,500, is a suburb of St. Louis and located about fifteen minutes west of the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area. Incorporated in 1949, the city began as a farming community and was a stop along the route of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Creve Couer enjoys a Continental style climate, with four changing seasons that include moderately hot summers and relatively cold winters with the occasional snowfall.There are numerous opportunities for outdoor activity in Creve Coeur. Millennium Park, situated on 25 acres, is the city’s largest park and boasts two playgrounds, a splash pad for seasonal fun, baseball, softball, and soccer fields, and a paved walking trail. The park is also home to the historic Tappmeyer House, which was built in the 1880s and was home to four generations of Tappmeyers.
For a look at more of the local history be sure and visit Conway Park, home to the historic Hackmann and Clester cabins, both over two hundred years old and dating back to the early and mid 1800s. The park also features a fitness walking path, two tennis courts, a playground, and dog park.
Fun for all ages can be had at the Creve Coeur Ice Arena, located in the Dielmann Recreation Complex. For golfing enthusiasts, the Creve Coeur Golf Course is a municipal 9-hole course located in the heart of the city.
Creve Coeur is also conveniently located to the many attractions and venues offered in the city of St. Louis and a great place to stay while visiting the area.
